|Our A World of Wellness™ team is made up of a variety of people from all walks of life. Although there is a large representation of leaders from both health and wellness fields, it is not a requirement to be on the team. We are a diverse group of leaders who have come together on this team to share our skills and talents to make a difference in our own lives and the world around us.
We are passionate in our desire to work, live, learn and give - all in a balanced llife.
Here are just a few of the members of our A World of Wellness team:
Patti and Peter Rugg, MD
Peter and Patti Rugg have 4 children and have recently become empty-nested, at least for the school year. Patti, after a career in hospital administration, decided to be a stay-at-home mom. She had a home-based day care business while the children were young and went on to become a volunteer leader in her church and community. Peter is a fulltime Emergency Room physician. He teaches Emergency Medicine at UMass Medical School. He holds numerous teaching and administrative titles including: Assistant Professor, Former Department Chairperson and is the Former Medical Director of Quality. He has served on the Board of Children's Court Advocates and currently works with the Juvenile Court System and the United Way to address the epidemic of childhood obesity, exercise and nutrition. "We both have embraced USANA and the World of Wellness team because we believe in the goal of health maintenance and we strongly seek to practice and teach work-life balance."
Karen Scibinico has a Masters degree in Educational Administration and served as a Dean and Director of the Center for Executive and Professional Education at Bentley College. Previously, she was a teacher and executive trainer. To achieve her goal of helping people find a healthier lifestyle, Karen left Bentley to become a certified yoga instructor and opened The Circle of Stones Yoga Studio. A year later, she and husband Ted started their Life's Balance business. "Joining USANA and the World of Wellness team has inspired me because of the quality and diversity of the people who are committed to changing lives for the better through work/life balance." She has a BA in English/Secondary Education from Simmons College and a MEd in Educational Administration from Boston College
San Diego, CA
After graduating from Nurses Training from the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, Patty focused on maternal-child health education and women's wellness. While developing her career, she placed primary interest on the well-being of her own family and three children. As her children left for college, Patty and her husband considered a number of entrepreneurial projects but focused on a home-based business to allow more personal and professional freedom. After nine years of developing a cooperative team model for others to achieve their maximum personal potential, she has realized life-long goals. Learning to strive for balance in her life has been an invaluable challenge. In addition, it has allowed her the personal time to commit to her family of three adult children and six grandchildren. Leaving a positive legacy for those to follow is a personal passion. "I truly see the World of Wellness team and USANA opportunity as an avenue for others to discover their own 'perfect path' toward achieving true health, happiness and financial success."
Mike joined the World of Wellness team as an independent USANA associate after 10 years in corporate marketing and communications, much of it with a Fortune 50 company as a Marketing Communications Manager with global responsibilities. He has played key roles in establishing multi-national internet and intranet sites and has experience in brand building, the development of marketing messaging across various media as well as business development. He lives in Phoenix with his wife and three children. He has a BA in Communications from Brigham Young University and an MBA in Marketing from Arizona State University. "Joining the World of Wellness team has truly been an eye-opener for me. I now can utilize my skills gained in a corporate setting and apply them to an entrepreneurial model which not only potentially delivers financial success, but personal success as well."
